GRANT

My great-great grandmother, Mary Ann GRANT, was born in Banff, Banffshire, Scotland in 1833.
She emigrated to NSW, Australia in 1839 with her father, James GRANT, mother Charlotte (nee STEWART) & 5 other sisters, Jessie May (Janet) (1828-1912), Anne Margaret (1830-1909), Isabella (1834-1924), Margaret (1837-1859) & Charlotte (1838-pre 1891). They were Assisted Bounty Migrants. James became a farmer at Tarro, NSW. James and Charlotte had another child, John Stewart (1841-1913), born at West Maitland, NSW.

Mary Ann GRANT (1833-1926) married Lewis PERRETT (1831-1895) in 1855 in Hexham, NSW, Australia & settled nearby in the Raymond Terrace area. They had 9 children : Margaret Jane (1856-1888), John Grant (1859-1941), Selina (1861-1884), George Lewis (1862-1947), James Ezra (1864-1950), Mary Ann (b. 1866), Alfred Ernest (1868-1913), Albert Stewart (1870-1956) & Charles Henry (1872-1930).

Selina PERRETT, my great grandmother, married James PRIDDLE in 1883 at Morpeth, NSW.  Selina died at Woodburn, NSW, in 1884 following the birth of their only child, Ruby Mary, my grandmother.
