My great grandmother, Catherine Mary NICHOLS, was born in Lake Bathurst near Goulburn, NSW, Australia in 1851.

She was the daughter of John NICHOLS & Ann Margaret (nee ABRAHAM). John was born in Buckinghamshire, England. Their other children were : Frederick (1845-1916) and Robert (1849-1930).

Catherine Mary married Edward Hayden SMITH in 1875 at Yass, NSW, Australia.
